March 2018 Newsletter
Ahhh, Autumn. One of our most anticipated seasons after the heat of a Queensland summer. It’s time to cool down and let off some of the heat which has built up in our bodies over the past few months. We move from the expansive, external nature of summer into the internal and introspective energies of autumn. It is the perfect time to reflect on your life, organise and let go of the old. Sleep a little longer, breathe a little deeper. Look for warm and nourishing foods. Pay attention to your internal life and be more mindful. It is the time to work on our insides, both emotionally and physically. Allow some time for self care, we need to love and appreciate ourselves a little more.
If you are prone to lung weakness, these conditions can worsen during autumn. Chinese herbs alongside some acupuncture is a wonderful way to strengthen lungs and help prepare them for the cooler months ahead. It can be a good idea to reduce your intake of dairy food as it can create mucus that is stored in your lungs, weakening them.
Some of the foods to look to look out for in autumn include rice, cinnamon, pears, cabbage, leek, almonds, walnuts, ginger, broccoli, apricots, eggs, lemons and olives. Eating warming foods helps to combat the cooler weather and harmonise our body with the new season around us. Internal warmth supports strength which is more important as the days get shorter and cooler.
Summer has seen us be busy little bees at Kansha. We are just coming down off an incredibly busy Christmas and New Year season. We have recently launched our online booking system which is proving to be a hit with our busy patients. Often it’s at the end of the day when we slow down that we remember an appointment we forgot to make. Online booking means we are accessible 24/7 for appointment bookings. You can find the booking link via our website (www.kansha.com.au) our Facebook page and Instagram page.
Due to high demand, we have also opened our hours up on a Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday for massage therapy. Proving very popular, we are thrilled to be able to offer this wonderful service to those who cannot make it in during the working week.
All our patients know we are a little obsessed with essential oils. Our practitioners often use them to compliment their treatments. Our visitors also regularly make comment on the gorgeous aromas that meet them as they enter our front door. We love to play with essential oil blends and this is one that we often use when autumn arrives.
3 drops Bergamot
1 drop Thieves
1 drop Ginger
Place these into your diffuser and drift away. Thieves oil is a powerhouse blend on its own, purifying and cleansing negative emotions and energy. It purifies the air by removing nasty airborne bacteria. Bergamot is a calming oil whilst ginger will aide digestion, help reduce inflammation and relieve anxiety. There is nothing not to love about this!
